Semi-on topic... I was in my buddies S430 Mercedes, and holy hell the insulation in that thing must be absolutely badass... I mean we're talking doing 90 on the free-way blairing the horn (which I know from experience to be very loud outside the vehicle) and not hearing a damn thing outside... I mean barely hearing any wind noise or road noise. I noticed how thick the pillars are in the car and the door jambs and they are almost double the thickness of my Jetta or my Truck ever was... Is it even possible to attain that kind of sound deadening in a car that has typical door jamb space or door panel space??

I was just thinking to myself how awesome it must be to have an S Class mercedes after that lol

I've used Cascade VMAX.

I think the price on the cascade barriers is just too high compared to using Mass Loaded Vinyl and closed celled foam separately.

BTW - I get mass loaded vinyl from a place locally, saves me a ton over getting it from SDS which is in Maryland - the shipping costs almost as much as the product

I have cascade in my car and since I went to Drops out of the Flow's I haven't had a bit of sound flowing into my cabin. I highly recommend it.

It actually just changed hands.

I agree however that sound deadener showdown is some great stuff.

I have used all the products they sell and been extremely happy.

Cool... Well do!

I'm hoping to get the motor in the dang thing so I can start working on the interior and stereo.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

I will haven an exhaust (flowmaster) and small audio system, so I need to stop viberation/resonating/drone as well.

What kind of "mass loaded vinyl with a closed cell phone backer" do you recommend, and what about sound deadner?

Deadener doesn't stop noise. It stops panels from resonating. You need a mass loaded vinyl with a closed cell phone backer. to stop road noise.
