I am a supporter of Obama, but realistically he didnt do anything yet to win the award. However I do understand partially why the NPP committee chose him. He is probably the most noticable figure on the planet right now for either good or bad reasons, with the most power to do something related to foreign policy. Thats kind of why they did that...
The committee is holding his feet to the fire saying basically, "We give you this award, now don't prove us wrong or you will never get re-elected."
Democrat or Republican, its not about what he's done, its what the committee wants him to do... so in a way, this could be a good thing...
