OK... got the car yesterday... It's pretty nice... I don't really have any complaints about it other than the rear-view mirror is kind of cheap looking, and it has a very low profile front windshield. Other than that... It drives like a dream and handles great.

I'll post some pix once I get the camera working and have time to do so... Maybe between golf and soccer today.

I believe Wednesday is the delivery date...

Although could be as early as today or tomorrow...

Ah I c... Well just a little update... I am now the proud owner of a 2009 VW Jetta TDI

Options include:
6 cd changer
power sunroof
black leatherette interior
17" alloy wheels
rubber mats (who cares)
Sirius Satelite radio... free for 6 months...
6 spd standard transmission
31/41 mpg EPA: reported 38/46

And its white...

Not quite the color I was looking for but this was the smarter choice plus black interiors don;t show as much wear, grime, dirt, what have you. And the tires on the 17" wheels are better quality and not these:

Bridgestone Turanza EL400:

Check out that crappy rating!

I test drove the gas version a few weeks ago. It was very nice. The blinker is pretty cool; you can tap it down once to get it to blink 3 times.

Ah thanks very much... I think I will be doing a nother Downfiring box... I kind of like that I don't need to show off the subs anymore and the sound is just fine...

Update on the vehicle situation... Went to test drive the TDI stick... Its very comfortable and very easy to drive... Handles like a dream... Leatherette seating surfaces and this one has a Sunroof, Bluetooth integration as well as Ipod Integration...

Did I mention the trunk is HUGE! ;) 16 cuft

I don't think I am going to mess with the stock HU but I might throw a LOC in and make a new box for my 2 12" Autoteks... I still actually havnt listened to the stereo yet so I have no clue how loud it gets... A little bump in the trunk wouldnt be bad... just so long as I can still fit my golf clubs in there I'm a happy camper...

BTW does anyone know where I can get some good carpeting for the sub box online? I'm not looking for anything expensive but just something that will match the charcoal/black truck area as well as possible..

Thanks,

I don't think the GTI is for me as I believe it fits more into the sports car range... I think the TDI however seems like the better bet... Right now I am just trying to talk down the dealers from their current prices... A lot of these TDI's are hovering around $24-$25k and I'd like to get them down to $22k... Plus I am a not a person who likes to have an Auto tranny so getting a car with a stick is a must. I could care less for a sunroof as well...

GET THE GTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i heard vw's get retarded expensive if something mechanically goes wrong with them.
