was just looking at my profile and realized that a couple weeks ago ive been here for 4 years. i joined here i was a single dad working at an audio shop making good money. now im remarried with 4 kids and i own my own shop and im broke.
definitely seen a lot of people come and go from here. good and bad. some of the good ones are still here. some have gone from good to bad......a lot of good people have joined and stuck around and ive made a few friends in the process. i think i primarily post here instead of other car audio sites because im way past puberty and (im gonna sound old here) young people who think they know more than they do and are very vocal about it and have no interest in learning something new piss me off. this is an ever changing industry and you either change with it or get lost in the process. gone are the days of the 20 dollar dash kit and 10 dollar plug adaptor. now if you want to stick a 99 buck cd player in a cobalt, you need a 150 dollar plug and 45 dollars worth of dash kit and antenna adaptor. how bout music beamed from outer freaking space into your car? satellite tv in the car. there are at least 3 companies to get satellite in your car from now. how bout factory gps head units with satellite radio and ipod integration? now you wanna add a sub to it...fun stuff. 20 dollar lineout convertors are going the way of the dodo bird. slowly but surely. the publics expectations are higher and the money is less than ever. few people are happy with a plain wooden box and grey carpet anymore. its all fiberglass and paint and suede....trunked cars are the exception. i guess if its in the trunk its out of site out of mind. the times they are a changin...well heres to the future
