my gain knob does that and only goes as high as the gain is set on my amp... Unless I am thinking of my Bassboost... I guess I will have to take a look at that.

OH by the way its an A6 (Ultimate Mono) I put A3 in the title.

From the website:

"Extra features are a phase control variable 0-180 degrees continiously.
A remote sub level control is included. Adjust the sub level and phase from the front seat! "

From the manual:

A remote level and phase
shift control is included with
A5, A6 and A7 amplifiers.
You can adjust the bass
level and phase from the
front seat of your vehicle.
Connect it to the socket
marked Remote Bass
Level. When using a
remote level control you
must activate it by pushing
the switch besides the
socket, to IN-position.

Hey falken check the manual. Its probably a bass boost, if it is the manual should give you freq, q, and slope.

What'd be really cool is if the remote gain knob only allowed you to go as high as the gain knob that is on the amp.

I currently have my gain set using a 0db test tone of 50 hz. I set it with the car off for a voltage that would give me about 1100 watts at 1 ohm.

The ideal situation would be, set the gain on the amp to 1200 watts or so with a -6db test tone. And use the remote gain knob to be able to turn it down - I'd want a knob who's maximum was still within safe operating range. That way when I take my car for work the idiot working there doesn't crank my "bass knob" blowing everything up.

yes

Do you have DMM?

by falkenbd » Mon Dec 08, 2008 7:47 am

Well, I was kind of hoping it was remote gain. So I could figure out the maximum setting and mark it somehow on the knob (maybe make a stop) and then turn it down from there as needed.

Bass Boost is just as dangerous and Gain an improperly set gain To High or To Low can be just as damaging.

Looking at the manual for my DLS A6.

The amp comes with a remote gain knob. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if its actually remote gain or bass boost. So does anyone know?

I'd love to be able to adjust the gain and phase from the front seat.

But if its bass boost I want no part of it.

I usually adjust the non-fader out level on my deck from -6 to +6 but I don't think I'm getting the range I want out of that.

Any other thoughts on this?
