yeah it kinda is a bummer that hayes was mostly remembered for chef, cause he had a lot of talent. I sure hope Sam Jackson isn't next, cause his performance in Black Snake Moan, was killer in my opinion.

I would sure hate to lose him too.

Chef is truly no more

Although I don't agree with his religious views, he was a great man. He will be missed.

unfortunately Hollywood deaths come in threes so who is next.

btw, there is a new moving coming out that will have two of its stars deceased.

both Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes were stars of this movie: Soul Men.

The scary part is that the third "Soul Man" is Sam L. Jackson...what would we do without "snakes on a mfn plane"

here is the story:

Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac, who died one day apart, are to appear in Soul Men, a music-filled comedy directed by Malcolm D. Lee that's scheduled for release in November. The deaths of two of the movie's stars so close together is a huge and very sad coincidence.

According to IMDB, the movie is about two soul-singing legends (played by Mac and Samuel L. Jackson) who have been estranged for twenty years but who agreed to do a reunion performance to honor a deceased band leader. Hayes, in a smaller role apparently, plays himself.

For quite some time, the mention of Hayes' name brought to mind South Park and a handful of his 1970s hits that still are played on an oldies R&B station in town. I enjoy listening to his ballads more than his theme song for Shaft, for which he won an Oscar. But the Shaft theme was pretty cool.
