love the harbor freight. for 4 wheels to do yourself,
blast cabinet/$250 +shipping (large enough for wheels)
powder coat gun/ $60 + shipping
media for blast cabinet(walnut shell) $50 + shipping
oven(can use a home oven for up to 17'' wheel) $100 used
powder/$8
powder available in matte black, white, yellow, red only
total without shipping/$468
not worth it to do just 1 set of wheels. wanna do more stuff to get your money back? no problem, as long as you know how to properly clean/prep, pre bake to remove any leftover contaminates, properly apply powder and bake the item, oops what if they want orange? now you have to go someplace else for powder. what about a 2 or 3 tone, you will need the proper heat tape for masking and the knowledge on how to do it. establish your turn around time and lets not forget the best- the warranty. so no, it's not as easy as you may think. for a set of valve covers, by all means hit up harbor freight. almost forgot-larger ovens can be as costly as a new car.
