If it's for daily driving then the answer is probably "No, the cost does not justify the means.", as 3db gain (averaged gain by doubling) is barely audible to the human ear... So cost wise I hope this helps ;)

understood the whole cone area thing, but would it be a big difference? Cuse the way i am looking at it almost twice the money for the 12s, I know the box will make the difference, but is the potential that much greater for the twelves to justify the extra cash

Going with the 2 12's you will have more cone area over 1 15. Going off that alone, yes you will get louder with 2 12's, but it can also depend on box design as well and what you have to work with space wise.

well both really. To be honest the rw15 i had was almost loud enough for my tastes so i assuming most if not all that i have listed have a greater spl potential. looks like most can be had for around 350-400 for the pair. Guess i really need another question answered also. Ok for example, the dc level 3's are 175 a 12 shipped so 350 for 2,the 15" is 205 shipped, what i am asking is would i notice that much more spl with the 2 then just the 1 15

Out of what you've got listed... I guess the questions would have to be narrowed down to:
Are you wanting to be louder or clearer?
And at what cost?

well i think i will go with one of the ones aukland listed

I have ran a Type R and am currently running an Arsenal sealed in my car. Great little sub, very musical and can get pretty loud if you want it to. The Arsenal is cleaner than the R, but the R is also nice for the price in the right enclosure.

Re Se's
DC level 3's
type R
Arsenals
Mmats 2.5's
diamond d6
massive cw's
I cant make a decision to save my life, as soon as i think i know i change my mind again hell also been debating another 15 of the same models listed been working on a deal to get an olympus 15 but dont look like its going to work
Out of those listed, I would narrow it down to these:

Re Se's
DC level 3's
type R
Arsenals
Mmats 2.5's
diamond d6
massive cw's

:D hope that helps

And from the choices you listed... It tends to make it even harder, since it's hard for us to narrow down as they are all decent subs.

lol this is that time about car audio that i love... u know ur gonna build something.... just cant make the pick out of the 1000s of brands and models.. I like Type Rs on the fact that, well i find them versatile and easy as hell to make sound fairly good.. no personal experience with any of the others..
