ok, im buying the Autotek MM 100.4 to run my components,, now that i can use all the inputs on the crossover, since you can just hook up the woofer input at 4 ohms, would i now run both tweeter and woofer inputs at 2 ohms stereo or run all 4 channels at 4 ohms stereo? or would that hurt the tweeters not being in HP mode, or would it best to stick with the 2 channel amp

That's what the jumper is for... It's just a small piece of wire that runs from one to the other.

does the jumper work automatically, becuz theres no switch, the diagram for one amp shows just hookin one channel to the wooofer input and nuthin to the tweeter input

I can't remember exactly but most bi-amp crossovers have a jumper that lets you choose bi-amp or single input. Regardless if it's only bi amp, you can run two sets of wires from the same channel of the amp, one to the woofer input and one to the tweeter input.

i see the cross overs they have 2 channel out puts one for the woofer and one for the tweeter, but on the input there are 2 channels one for the tweeter and one for the woofer but im only runnin one channel from my amp to the cross over, would i just hook the channel to the woofer input on the cross over or split it and run 2 positives one for tweeter and one for woofer and then 2 negatives from one channel of my amp , but then wouldnt that effect the ohm load?

yes you do see the boxes with gold screw terminals in them? and looks like big copper coils? those are your crossovers. read the manual this should explain most of it

i have the Alpine SPX-17REF components, i dont think its a passive crossover, it says external crossover with bi amp capability

by Bwcad1 » Wed Jan 09, 2008 10:12 am

what set do you have? did it come with a passive cross over? if so wire one set of wires to the input on the passive cross over. and then wire the tweeter and mid to the corrosponding spots on the crossover.

hookin up my first set of components, i have one 2 channel amp, the cross over has a woofer and tweeter speaker wire inputs,, do i hook up both or just one channel to the woofer input? the diagram shows an amp hooked to the tweeters and an amp to the woofer?
