I put a layer of spray glue on my padding before I placed it down, but it isn't a must (unless your doing the trunk walls)

While it is not abnormal to get water in your doors, as there is a little hole at the bottom of all doors to let the water out... there should not be huge puddles in there, cuz it should run out nearly as fast as it comes in... so check the bottom of the door and make sure that lil hole is not plugged with gunk.

I was prepping the front doors today so I had my door panels off. While doing this I decided to hose off the outside of my car because I was getting tired of looking at loads of bird crap on it. After I finished, I open the doors to resume work and find that water is getting into my doors. Not insane, but there small puddles of water and splashes inside my door. Is this normal?

Yea the lead seemed questionable but if dynamat is doing it then I guess there is a right way to use it.

no adhesive on the padding correct?

Actually dynamat sells a sheet of lead with a layer of closed cell foam on both sides of it. Its about 300 bucks for a 3/5 sheet of it. Thats were I got the idea for what I did in the S10.

Do not put steel over the padding thats seriously crazy! steel regardless of make up still weights a shit ton. just put the padding down and be done with it.
