never had the chance to deal with jl personally but they are a high end company everybody knows that, and because so they over price there stuff big time, but the ppl that have the money buy it

JL makes solid products, I have a 300/4 that has just been a champ for years. I call it "The Franchise".

DEFINATELY can't beat the amp at that price though :)

by snowmanx » Thu Oct 18, 2007 2:14 pm

Well, I paid $175 for the amp and $310 for the speakers, so I don't think I did too bad. I know the speakers are last years model, but I wanted to save the cash.

JL Rocks! Overpriced, yes.

You can get the performance of the W7 elsewhere for half the price.

I've loved all the stuff I've worked with anyway.

3 way xrs and jl amps are solid stuff you will be very happy, you already bought it so dont hurt ur head with the after thought. the xrs are being replaced by the c5s if i have my info right so its slightly out dated but about as solid as u can get at the price

now for the "other" opinion, sort of.....jl was a winning company back in the day, you couldnt open a car audio mag without seeing their subs in award winning installs. jl still makes a quality product but it comes at a price that in my opinion is high for the quality you get.

We have a winner.

Yeah Justin's right. JL has been around for years and has always produced a quality product. You did good in your choices for amps and components.

Then again I am a little biased. I'm running 2 300/2s on my front stage.

by MobileAudio219 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 2:10 pm

JL is a high end company. In my book they are just as good, if not better, then every company you listed. You're equiptment is good stuff, rather or not it satifys you depends on the install, but it should be more than capable of doing so. :happy055:

Doing all this backwards, bought my equipment based on what I THOUGHT was upper end stuff... now I'm doing the research!! Never knew there was so much info on the net and forums JUST for car systems!!LOL

I'm running ( not installed yet) JL XR653 3 way component system in my truck, and I'm going to power it with a JL 300/2 slash amp.

Are these components comparable to some of these other brands to which I've never even heard of???....likeFusion, PG, Fi audio, Polk, Wooferset, and many others I've seen the last week, and few that I know..focal, rockford, infinity.

Now I'm jsut curious how the JL equipment rates compared to what's out there??? Just haven't seen a lot of mention of it here on the forums!
